As a parish family, we are a vital part of the Church of the Archdiocese of Omaha and the universal church. On our journey of faith, we are gathered in the power of the Spirit to grow in holiness and to praise God. May our lives be witness of His presence and His ministry among us.

This year, 2017, we also celebrate our centennial. December 25, 1917, the first Mass was celebrated at St. John in Valley, NE. The first church had been part of the Valley Public School and then a Baptist church. John Zeis, Sr. purchased the building and the land at Alexander St. and Park Ave, to which he moved the building and it became the St. John Catholic Church, the parish’s first church. Fr. D. P. Neligan was pastor at St. Patrick in Elkhorn and in the Fall of 1917 became the first pastor of St. John.

Now, in 2017, we celebrate our centennial, 100 years of living, vibrant faith, thanks to the Grace of God. It is a milestone as we celebrate the Spirit of Faith at St. John. It is a year to give thanks to God for his many blessings over the years and to express our gratitude for the 100 years of graces fore our parish family.
